Privacy Policy

What we collect

The WidgetFace app collects no personal information. There is no account system, no sign-in, and no backend server of ours that receives your data.

All widget configuration data — layouts, complication settings, countdown dates, custom text, and any photos you add — is stored locally on your device using iOS App Group storage shared between the app and the widget extension. It never leaves your device.

Device permissions

WidgetFace may request the following permissions depending on which complications you use:

• Location (optional) — used only by the Weather complication to fetch your local forecast from MET Norway, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's public weather service. Your approximate location (rounded to about 10 meters) is sent to MET Norway solely to retrieve weather data. WidgetFace does not store it on any server or use it for any other purpose.
• Calendars (optional) — used only by the Calendar complication to read upcoming events. Calendar data is read on-device and never transmitted off your device.
• Photos (optional) — the Photo complication uses the system photo picker, so WidgetFace only sees the photo you choose. It is copied into the app's local storage and never uploaded.
• No other permissions are required.

Analytics

The WidgetFace app uses TelemetryDeck to count anonymous usage events, such as “a widget was created” or “the settings screen was opened.” These events never include your widget contents, location, calendar events, photos, or anything you type. Each device is represented by a one-way hashed identifier that cannot be traced back to you, and the data is never linked to your identity or used for advertising or tracking. The widget on your home screen sends no analytics.

This website (widgetface.app) uses TelemetryDeck to count page visits and button clicks. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-first analytics platform designed for Apple developers. It does not use cookies and does not track individuals — signals are sent with a one-way hashed identifier derived from your browser's user-agent string, which cannot be reversed to identify you. No IP addresses are stored.

Third-party services

• MET Norway — weather data. Receives the location of each Weather or UV complication when it refreshes. See api.met.no terms of service.
• TelemetryDeck — anonymous app usage counts and website analytics. See telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
• Yahoo Finance — stock quotes. Receives the ticker symbols you add to a Stock complication, and nothing else.
• Apple — App Store purchases (handled entirely by Apple; we never see payment details) and app distribution. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.

WidgetFace has no relationship with any advertising network and does not sell or share any data.

Children

WidgetFace does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The only data the app sends is the anonymous usage counts described above, for every user regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Since the app collects no personal data, changes are unlikely to affect you in any meaningful way.
